Special Education Inclusion
The theory of inclusion in special education is a strategy that laments the isolation of all learners and the presence of students with disabilities in regular classrooms with their non-disabled peers. The practice has to be utilized as the social interactions, academic performance, and a sense of belonging for all the students are the factors by which students are multiplied and the education experience enriched for all involved.
Mainstream special education brings back many of the benefits, such as the possibility of children's better social skills, higher academic achievement, and self-esteem for students with disabilities. For instance, the co-teaching model attracts students with disabilities to lesson activities planned and taught by their peers also. The non-disabled students benefit from learning with different people and this not only help them develop empathy but also make them better people.
Implementation of Special Education Inclusion is not free from the problems which teachers have to deal with such as different student requirements, inadequate training, and lack of resources. Let's say that a teacher cannot by themselves be the only reason for an implementation of their adjustments in lesson plans that promote the cooperation of both disabled students and their peers. This is because they are required to apply imaginative methods and ask for outside help. Teacher workshops and teaching together provide possibilities to deal with the mentioned above barriers.
Parents are able to promote the Special Education Inclusion by voicing their child's requirements, & making collaborative arrangements with their tutors; Also, they can take part in decision-making on the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). They can easily make a way for interactions among children by organizing playdates with friends, & their child to join sports or art events where he/she/they can form friendships in a diverse environment.
The presence of school administration is most paramount in the embrace of Special Education Inclusion by means of the management of the policies that the inclusive practices are to be organized, provision of sufficient training for the staff, and the effective allocation of resources. For instance, the school administrators can introduce the program for the inclusive hiring of teachers so that they can possess the knowledge necessary to be able to work with a wide range of students thus changing the school environment towards the more inclusive direction.
