If you have a website built on WordPress, you can embed your mini-courses in your website easily with Mini Course Generator plug-in.

We have a quick and easy-to-follow tutorial, right here.

Mini Course Generator WordPress plug-in.

Note: WordPress plug-in only works for embedding mini-courses. To embed collections, please use JS embed codes.

Embedding Mini Courses

If you have a non-WordPress hosted website or if you are using a membership platform, you can embed your mini-courses in your website by getting the embed code in either JavaScript or iframe HTML.

On your mini-course editor, click on the “Share” button and “Embed on a website” to reach the relevant code.

Note: You can also reach the “Embed” code from your home page as well, under the dots menu of a mini-course.

When you open the “Embed” pop-up, you can see the embed codes of that mini-course.

You need to choose between JavaScript and iFrame HTML.

  • Embedding JavaScript code gives the best result for user experience. Especially the mini-courses which include more than one card should be embedded with JS for more controlled and smooth performance. Additionally, JavaScript outperforms iframe HTML when multiple collections or mini-courses are embedded in the same URL.
  • On the other hand, embedding with iFrame HTML is easier and quicker. Hence, using iFrame HTML code to embed single card mini-courses is also a valid option.

In this article, we will talk about both scenarios. The process may change for various website builders, but the logic behind is more or less the same. We will demonstrate an example by using Wix.

Embedding a JavaScript Code

On your website builder, you need to find the place to embed custom codes. On Wix, it is under Marketing Tools.

There, you will see separate places for Head and Body.

Note: Body – Start and Body – End indicate different positions in your page, but practically they are the same. Choose one of them for your embed.

Go back to MCG. You can get the <head> and <body> tags of JS embed codes by under the Embed tab which is opened by default.

Copy these tags separately and paste them to relevant places. Then, you need to define on which page these codes will be active. You can give a name to this embed if you want. Click “Apply”.

After you add both Head and Body codes, you can preview your page on Wix. Some embeds do not appear in preview mode, but they become visible when you publish your page:

Embedding an iframe HTML Code

To embed an iFrame HTML code, you need to find the place to embed HTML on your website builder. On Wix, it is under Popular Embeds.

“Embed HTML” option gives you an embed box, which you can expand and position according to your needs.

The embed settings bar will emerge when you click on the embed box. Click on “Enter Code”.

Go back to MCG. You can get the iframe HTML code by clicking the iFrame Code tab.

Copy this code and paste it into the provided space on Wix.

After you update the embed box, you can preview your page.

Please be advised that in JS embeds, the mini-course is placed in a space with enough height to view the cards as whole. However in HTML embeds, the user may need to scroll down to view all elements in a card.

Moreover, when many cards exist, JS embeds operate better while the user is skipping to the next card. Because while the HTML embeds stay scrolled down in the new card, the JS embed shows the beginning of a card first. That’s why, especially for multi-card mini-courses, we recommend JS embed.

Note: If you want to display social sharing buttons on your mini-course, make sure that the related option is activated as shown in the image below.

When you activate this option, your mini-course is modified to display the following buttons on your mini-course. Hence, your audience can share your mini-course on their social media more easily and faster.

Embedding Collections

Collections of mini-courses can be embedded in your webpage just as mini-courses can be. Only difference is that collections can only be embedded using JS code. To embed a collection, choose the relevant collection on your admin dashboard and click on “Share”. Then, choose “Embed on a website” to get the JS embed code of your collection.

After getting the JS head and body embed code, simply paste it to the relevant sections of your webpage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Embed a Gated Collection on My Website?

Yes, you can embed gated collections on your website, if the learner access method is set to either Email Verification or Specific Learners.

How Does It Work?

When you embed a gated collection using one of these access methods, your learners will be prompted to enter their email address. After submitting their email, they will receive a verification code. Once they enter the correct code, they will be able to access and experience your course content directly on your website, without being redirected elsewhere.

This ensures that access to your collection is restricted only to verified users, while still providing a seamless experience within your own site or product.

Important Note About Pay-Wall Gateways

Currently, pay-wall gateways (such as Stripe or Lemon Squezzy) are not fully compatible with embedded collections. This is because payment gateways require learners to complete the payment process on an external site, which means they will be redirected away from your website to finalize their purchase. As a result, the embedded experience is interrupted.

If you require payment before access, we recommend linking to your course or collection directly instead of embedding it, so that the payment and access flow remains smooth for your learners.

If you would like to present your mini-courses in an order and you would like to guarantee that your learners have to go with the order, in other words, learners need to follow the mini-course sequence you set, this is for you.

To realize this use-case, first, order your mini-courses in the same collection. To change the placement of a mini-course in the collection, drag the mini-course using the icon on top right end of your mini-course and drop it to its place.

After you finalize the sequence of mini-courses in your collection, go to “Overview” tab and turn on “Learners can proceed only sequentially” setting, as shown below.

After toggling on this setting, your learners will only be able to proceed to the next mini-course when they complete one.

Note: This setting is also present for mini-courses, so if you’d like your learners to follow the order of cards in your mini-course without wandering freely, turn it on in your mini-course settings.

Here’s how your collection of mini-courses look after toggling on this setting.

As shown in the image, a new learner will see all mini-courses in the collection except the first one with a lock icon, and clicking on the locked mini-courses will not open them, unless the unlocked mini-courses are completed.

If you’d like to give access to another collection when a mini-course or collection is completed, check our guide here.

Suppose that you want to sell your mini-courses individually, and you want to list them with attractive price tags.

For such a need, you can create a mini-course, which will act as the home page of your collection. A single standard completion card will be sufficient for this mini-course.

After creating this mini-course that will serve as the home page, on your mini-course editor screen, click on “Add link” icon at the top right end of a card to add a link.

The default choice in the upcoming window is “URL”. Change it to “Mini-Course” as shown below.

In “Add Mini-Course” menu, all your mini-courses are available. Pick the one you would like and click on “Add” button.

Note: When learners click on the link, it will open in a new tab. To avoid that, you can choose “Open in same tab”. Then, click on “Add”.

🔹You can add as many mini-courses as you would like on a card.

After you are done adding your mini-courses, click on the settings icon to customize the appearance of your mini-course buttons. You may need to scroll down the card a little bit to see the links you have added.

There, you will see 12 different box styles available; for your purpose, you can choose among filled boxes. Your choice will be valid for all of the links on that card.

After customizing the appearance of your mini-course links, click on the pencil icon to edit your links.

In the upcoming window, enter the price in the attention text box under “Advanced Settings”. You can also add a thumbnail along with the price tag to each of your links.

If you want to delete a link, it is also done on this window.

👀Attention text can be defined for each link separately. Supported thumbnail formats are PNG, JPEG, and JPG.

After arranging your settings, you can preview your mini-course to see what it looks like. The preview of an example is below, where related images are added as thumbnails and “15$” is the attention text.

You can share this page with a custom domain as well.

For example, suppose you have a website: thirdeyeyoga.com. It is possible to create a custom domain, such as courses.thirdeyeyoga.com; and make this address the share link of your mini-course where you list your other courses.

To learn more about adding custom domains and creating share links with custom domains, click here.

If you want to create a home page for your learners where you offer a series of selected mini-courses, the best option is to create a collection! Click here to learn more about collections.

You can provide a personal experience for your customers by directing them to new content depending on their answers.

The principle behind this is linking other mini-courses or collections as options to a question. Hence, users will proceed to a different content while staying on the same tab.

Note: As link buttons can be only added to Info, Standard completion and Score cards, you need to pick one of them to place your question.

We will demonstrate the process with an example below. Suppose you prepared a mini-course about public speaking and want to distinguish the path for your customers according to their answers to the following question: “What is your purpose for taking this course?”

Suppose they are either professionals or amateurs. First, create two mini-courses separately, and name these courses as if to be the answers to the above question.

Then, open your main mini-course, and ask your question on the card that will be your turnout card. You will list the options as links to your mini-courses.

Click the link icon at the top right of a card to add a link.

The default choice in the upcoming window is “URL”. Change it to “Mini-Course” as shown below.

In “Choose your course” menu, all your mini-courses will be available. Pick the one you like as the first option.

Note: When learners click on the link, it will open in a new tab. To avoid that, you should choose “Open in same tab”.

Click on “Add”.

You can add as many options and mini-courses as you need. After you are done, click the settings icon at the bottom of the card. You may need to scroll down the card a little bit to see the links you have added.

There, you will see 12 different box styles available; you can pick among option boxes. Your choice will be valid for all of the links on that card.

You can preview your mini-course to test user experience, as shown below.

If you want to direct your clients to different collections, you can keep the link option at URL and enter the share link of your collections.

Creating personalized content paths is actually a use case of adding links. To learn more about adding and customizing links, click here.

So you’ve finalized your mini-course and you’re ready to share it with your learners. What better way than to recognize your learners with a badge?

Badges are the icing on the cake for your mini-courses! Using a badge card in your mini-course, you can reward your learners with a proof of completion or success. Increase motivation, participation and engagement by rewarding your learners and reach higher visibility for your mini-courses with the help of easily shareable badges! With Mini Course Generator, all these perks are lightning-fast and practical as usual.

How to set up a Badge Card?

To add a badge card, click on “Add Card” on your mini-course editing screen. Then, under the completion cards category, choose “Badge” as your card type.

Choose one of our pre-designed badge styles, change the content and ribbon text to effortlessly personalize the badge.

👀 Badge cards are Completion cards. There can only be a single Completion card in a mini-course.

By default, a badge card rewards your learner for completion of mini-course. If you’d like to reward learners above a success threshold, choose “Success Badge” and set a desired percentage for success threshold as shown in the image below.

💡 Success rate is the percentage of correct answers given to all quiz questions in a mini-course. If there aren’t any quiz questions in the mini-course, success rate of learner is always 100%.

You can customize the message displayed to learners when a badge is earned. Simply click on “Customize Message” tab and make changes in the text however you’d like.

The customize message section is also an HTML editor. In addition to changing the text displayed, you can format the text, upload an image, add a hyperlink, embed media using iframe code and more to create custom-made success or lack of success messages easily.

How to Embed Media (from YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, etc.)?

Badges come up with a logo space available. If you’d like your badge to include a logo, add the logo to your mini-course simply by clicking on “Settings” and upload it under “Basics” tab.

Cool! Your badge is ready to go. Let’s see how it looks to get a badge from the learners’ point of view.

Each badge has its own Credential ID and URL details along with the awarded date information, so that your learners’ recognition can be verified at all times. Additionally, the Credential URL can be customized with our custom domain feature.

Here’s how to Customize Links with Custom Domain (CNAME)

Setting up a badge for your mini-course takes less than a minute. Learners are engaged to your content thanks to knowing they will receive recognition for their efforts. Besides, learners can easily share their badges online which is a great marketing tool that creates awareness for your brand, product, and mini-course. 🚀

Although your learners do not need to create an account themselves to access content in Mini Course Generator, learners have a dashboard available where they can see all collections of mini-courses assigned to them at once.

Things to know

The first time an email address is used to access content in Mini Course Generator as a learner, we create a learner profile based on the email address. This allows us to record progress, ensuring that learners can resume where they left off, without the need for login credentials. This approach provides a smooth experience for learners while giving mini course creators the ability to monitor engagement and progress.

💡Learners’ dashboard is not applicable for collections in which “learners’ access” is set as “everyone can access”.

See the Learner Dashboard

After your learner has verified their email address, clicking on the profile button opens a dropdown menu. The menu includes learner name, email address, dashboard button on the left and log out button on the right.

Clicking on the dashboard button, the learner is led to their profile page. Here, the learner can see their progress for each mini-course, allowing them to choose between proceeding with incomplete mini courses, starting new mini courses, or going over the mini courses they completed beforehand.

Additionally, learners can see the badges they have earned and visit their badge URL with a simple click on their profile.

Learn more about Issuing a Digital Badge.

The profile page’s domain, as well as your collection and mini-course share links, can be customized.

See further details about Customizing your Share Links.

Learners’ Login Experience

The image below shows what a new learner sees before they access a collection. Additionally, a learner who had accessed your content but logged out also faces this screen.

As the learner has not logged in yet, the profile section on top right end does not display a name. Clicking on start course or the profile icon leads to your learners’ access gateway option.

See further details on Learners’ Access options: double opt-in, pay-wall, enable access to specific learners.

You can present your mini-courses to your learners with a link. To get that link, click on “Share” on top right end of your mini-course editor and choose share with a link.

You can also reach “Share” command from your admin dashboard as well, under the dots menu of a mini-course.

When you open “Share” menu, you can see the share link of that mini-course. If you want to display the social sharing button on your mini-course, make sure that the related option is activated.

When you activate this option, your share link is modified to display the following button on your mini-course. Hence, your audience can share your mini-course on their social media more easily and faster.

You can copy the link and send it to your learners.

For learners that don’t complete your content in one sitting, or those who would like to revisit, it is best to share the access link where members of your community can reach repeatedly.

Suppose that you’re a life-coach, and you use a Discord server for your community. Or, you manage an Instagram account. With such use-cases, pinning the share link somewhere learners can access easily again and again would be useful.

Note: When you click on the “View” button on your mini course editor, it actually opens the mini course with its share link in a new tab on your browser. You can share your mini-course by copying that link, too; however, that link will not show social sharing buttons.

Note: If you have connected a custom domain to Mini Course Generator, and you would like to share your mini-course with a link tied to that custom domain, you can modify the share link of your mini-course manually. Suppose that your custom domain is “academy.yourdomain.com” and your mini-course has the following share link:

  • share.minicoursegenerator.com/leveling-up-progressing-in-your-yoga-journey-638521343109591388

The bold part of the link is the slug, and acts as the ID of your mini-course. You can use this ID with the custom domain you added. Just copy this part and paste it to the end of your custom domain like this:

  • academy.yourdomain.com/leveling-up-progressing-in-your-yoga-journey-638521343109591388

You can share the link above with your learners.
