eLearning Content Development: The Ultimate FAQ Guide

The demand for online learning is at an all-time high. Whether you are a corporate trainer, an ed-entrepreneur, or an educator, understanding eLearning content development is essential for transferring knowledge effectively.

To help you navigate this landscape, we have compiled the most frequently asked questions about creating digital learning experiences, including how modern AI-powered e-learning authoring platforms like Mini Course Generator can streamline the process.

What is eLearning content development?

eLearning content development is the end-to-end process of conceptualizing, structuring, creating, and publishing educational material for digital delivery.

Unlike traditional textbook creation, this process combines >instructional design principles with multimedia elements (text, audio, video, graphics) to create an experience that can be accessed via computers, tablets, or smartphones. It bridges the gap between raw information and a learnable, digital experience.

How to create eLearning content?

Creating eLearning content generally follows a structured workflow, often referred to as the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). However, modern tools have simplified this significantly:

  1. Define the Goal: What should the learner be able to do after the course?
  2. Draft the Content: Outline your modules and lessons.
  3. Select an Authoring Tool: Choose software to build the course.
  4. Add Media & Interactivity: Insert images, videos, and quizzes.
  5. Publish: Export for web or LMS (Learning Management System)

A Faster Way: With Mini Course Generator, you don’t have to start from scratch. You can utilize the AI Course Creator to generate a comprehensive course outline and complete content based on a simple description of your topic. This allows you to jump straight to the refining and editing phase, saving hours of development time.

If you want to check how AI Course Creator works, you can see the details in this page.

What is a learning content developer?

A learning content developer (often overlapping with an Instructional Designer) is the professional responsible for building the actual course assets.

They are part educator and part technologist. Their role involves:

  • Writing scripts and course text.
  • Designing visual layouts.
  • Developing interactive elements (quizzes, games).
  • Ensuring the content works technically across different devices.

When it comes to creating content through elearning authoring tools, drag & drop block editors bring a superior convenience. To check the best platforms in this category, you can visit Articulate’s Rise, Mini Course Generator, and Easygenerator.

What are the 5 parts of e-content?

To create a holistic learning experience, effective e-content usually consists of five core components:

  1. Text: The foundational information and narrative.
  2. Images/Graphics: Visual aids, charts, and infographics to explain complex concepts.
  3. Audio/Video: Narrations, podcasts, or instructional videos for engagement.
  4. Animation: Motion graphics to demonstrate processes or capture attention.
  5. Simulation/Interactivity: Quizzes, image hotspots, flashcards, drag-and-drop activities, and scenarios requiring learner input.

What are custom eLearning solutions?

Custom eLearning solutions refer to training materials built specifically for an organization's unique needs, branding, and learning objectives, rather than buying generic "off-the-shelf" courses.

Custom solutions are ideal when you need to teach proprietary software, company-specific compliance, or niche topics.

How Mini Course Generator fits: You don't always need an expensive agency for custom solutions. Mini Course Generator allows for complete customization, letting you upload your own logos, choose brand colors, and craft specific learning pathways that reflect your organization's unique identity without the high price tag.

What is Interactivity in eLearning content development?

Interactivity is the element of eLearning that requires the learner to take action. It moves the learner from a passive observer (reading/watching) to an active participant.

Interactivity includes:

  • Answering quiz questions.
  • Clicking through flashcards.
  • Making choices in branching scenarios.
  • Completing surveys.

High interactivity leads to higher retention rates. Mini Course Generator specializes in this by offering a card-based structure where learners interact with bite-sized content, flip cards, and answer questions to proceed, keeping engagement high throughout the journey. Moreover, it offers the first of its kind feature, AI Interaction Builder, which turns into interactive elements relevant to the context it is in.

How can I customize LMS content?

Personalizing content within a Learning Management System (LMS) ensures learners feel the training is relevant to them. You can personalize content by:

  • Pre-assessments: Allowing learners to "test out" of topics they already know.
  • Branching: Directing learners to different content based on their role or quiz results.
  • Modular Design: Breaking courses into small chunks so learners can choose what they need.

Pro Tip: If you use Mini Course Generator, you can create highly focused micro-courses and export them as SCORM packages. These packages plug directly into your LMS, allowing you to track individual progress while delivering a modern, personalized interface.

What are eLearning authoring tools?

eLearning authoring tools are software applications used to create digital training content. They arrange media, text, and interactions into a deliverable format.

They generally fall into two categories:

  1. Desktop-based: Heavy software installed on a PC (powerful but complex).
  2. Cloud-based: Accessible via a browser (collaborative and agile).

Mini Course Generator is a prime example of a cloud-based authoring tool. It prioritizes speed and ease of use, removing the steep learning curve associated with legacy software. It allows subject matter experts to become authors instantly.

Microlearning vs. Long-form: Which Is Better?

This debate often depends on the goal, but modern trends lean heavily toward microlearning.

  • For Organizations: Microlearning is better because it is faster to produce and easier to update.
  • For Learners: Microlearning is preferred because it fits into busy schedules and reduces cognitive load.

A strategy that respects the learner's time is always "better." Tools that facilitate micro-learning (short, focused bursts of learning) generally yield higher satisfaction and completion rates than hour-long, static lectures.

How do I ensure my eLearning content is engaging and effective?

To ensure engagement, you must compete for the learner's attention.

  • Keep it short: Diverse attention spans require brevity.
  • Use visuals: Break up walls of text.
  • Tell stories: Frame the learning within a relatable context.
  • Provide immediate feedback: Let learners know how they are doing instantly.

Using an authoring solution like Mini Course Generator inherently boosts engagement because it utilizes a card-like page layout. This format mimics the way we consume social media content—fast, visual, and interactive—preventing "click-next" fatigue.

How do I design effective eLearning content?

Designing effective content starts with solid Instructional Design (ID) principles:

  1. Align with Objectives: Ensure every slide or card serves a learning goal.
  2. Chunking: Break information into small, digestible pieces.
  3. Active Learning: Don't just lecture; ask questions.
  4. Accessibility: Ensure text is readable and videos have captions.

How do I ensure the quality of my eLearning content?

Quality assurance (QA) in eLearning involves three distinct checks:

  1. Content Accuracy: Is the information correct? (Subject Matter Expert review).
  2. Functional Testing: Do all buttons, links, and videos work? Does it work on mobile?
  3. Instructional Quality: Is the language clear? Is the flow logical?

Note: Mini Course Generator courses are mobile-responsive by default. This eliminates a massive chunk of QA testing, as you don't need to worry about how the content will break on different screen sizes.

How do I choose the right eLearning content development strategy?

Your strategy depends on your resources (time, budget, team) and your audience.

  • Low Budget / Tight Deadline: Use AI-powered, rapid authoring tools (like Mini Course Generator) to build valid, effective content quickly.
  • High Budget / Complex Simulation: You may need a team of developers and high-end software for VR or complex gamification.

For 90% of corporate training and educational needs, a rapid, agile strategy is most effective.

Are You Ready to Create Your eLearning Course?

The barrier to entry for creating professional eLearning content has never been lower. You no longer need coding skills or months of development time.

If you are ready to turn your expertise into engaging digital content, Mini Course Generator offers the fastest route from idea to live course.

  • AI-Assisted Creation: Generate content in seconds.
  • Interactive Cards: Engage learners instantly.
  • Seamless Sharing: Share via link, embed on your site, or export to SCORM/PDF.

How to start selling courses in the age of AI and extensive content all over the web? https://minicoursegenerator.com/blog/how-to-start-selling-courses-in-ai-era/ Tue, 04 Nov 2025 14:09:06 +0000 https://minicoursegenerator.com/?p=12790 Turn your existing content into interactive mini-courses that boost engagement and save time.

The post How to start selling courses in the age of AI and extensive content all over the web? appeared first on Mini Course Generator.

]]>

In other words, why would someone pay for an online course when they can learn from AI or find free content online?

Information is everywhere

Finding information and educational content can not be easier. AI platforms where you get instant answers for even toughest questions, YouTube videos within a tutorial format even in niche areas, and lots of other platforms with free course materials are providing extensive content for any topic that you are motivated to learn more and get deeper.

In this paradigm though, where anyone can find quality, free resources in a matter of seconds, and importantly, how can you sell courses? The problem is that AI can reply within the context of what you ask for. You get the response that you ask for!Yet, since you want to learn new horizons that you are not aware of, it is hard for AI to predict all those things through your questions and prompts. With YouTube and other mediums, the problem is they are unstructured and you do not know which YouTube channel to trust for quality and up-to-date educational content.

who can refuse free educational content?
Who can refuse free educational content?

Still, AI is providing easily accessible and free education material. Who can resist to proceed with those instead of paying for an online course, event it comes with a decent price?

What if you are starting to sell courses?

Selling your own courses is not so tough if your name is a “brand” as an instructor and your reputation is already widely recognized. For instance, if you want to learn more about details of filmmaking, most of us would pay for Jodie Foster’s course on Masterclass without any hesitation, where she teaches how to bring stories from page to screen with emotion and confidence. When we purchase the course, we do not get the didactic information, rather what we pay for is getting the wonderfully authentic, personal experience.

Or suppose that you have been creating free content to YouTube for many years, and you have built a brand on a specific niche. You are good at social media marketing, you became a well-regarded influencer, and you already have the prospective community base. Again, the stakes of selling courses to many people are again high.

Yet, what if you are a newbie to course sales and you do not have any established “name” on the block? Where to start as an entrepreneur, where profitable digital product will be the courses ? Or even, in the age of AI, where learners can get detailed and personalized answers regarding what they are curious about alongside other free educational content, does this make sense to create courses with the ambition of making passive income?

For us, the answer is not a direct yes or no; instead it is more about ‘how’.

Given all that upside, building even a minimal viable version of a customer education program is one of the highest-leverage investments you can make for your SaaS, product, or service.

Shifting the Focus from Information to Learner Experience

Even as the product owners of Mini Course Generator, we believe that the platform you select for course selling does not make the biggest difference. Rather, what we see as the game changer is how you shape the learning experience.

If you want to earn money from selling your expertise with on-demand courses, we believe that you should not only focus on the information you provide, instead you should prioritize how your learners interact. This is the necessity in this period that we are close to entering in 2026. No more conventional “video + text” loops are enough to sell courses unless your name has a great brand authority.

What we see as the game changer is the way you combine different educational elements with different strengths together to enrich the experience. Combining different elements in a creative way is all about making 1 + 1 bigger than 2. We suggest that if you want to develop yourself in the course selling context, this is what you should put your effort into.

Be the “Course Curator”

We think that course creators should leverage the variety of AI-based ed-tech tools to sell their courses. AI-tools like NotebookLM, etc. are not competitors, instead they are the beneficial elements that can be helpful for your course selling business. For instance, why not combine NotebookLM’s videos with Synthesia avatars alongside ThingLink’s 360 images while embedding Google Map views while preparing a course about Renaissance architecture?

As an analogy, in this new age of “knowledge business”, we think that the best course creators are the best “curators”. Curate all the relevant and interactive elements in a cohesive way to enrich the learning experience as much as you can so your courses can shine in the mass and start the engine of word-of-mouth to gain new customers. Be the “course creator” like art curators. Moderate and shape the content in such a way that the learner feels they are in the flow of the learning journey.

Leverage AI for “Short and Impactful” Experiences

Despite our biggest strength is AI Course Creator, which we started to combine AI and course creation in late 2021 (as can be seen in this nostalgic screenshot at wayback machine) and pioneer in this vertical, we do not suggest that using AI as the only source of your content. Our AI feature set (AI Course Creator, AI Interaction Builder, AI Quiz generator, AI-image maker) does the heavy lifting to prevent any creator’s block yet the make the unique course that can be sold in the market requires adding creativity and enrichment of how you provide the learning experience.

course curation with different elements
Combine elements for creativity

Even if your main income-generation business is not based on course selling, you can still leverage courses for lead generation that offer enriched experience for learners. You don’t have to create long courses; don’t feel as if when the course is short, it is worthless. On the contrary, creating engaging mini-courses with a micro-learning approach are more effective for starting relationship building with your audience compared to long courses where no one can proceed to complete.

We believe that the watchword to get started selling courses or successful lead generation with educational content is “short and impactful”. Like with the widely accepted design principles of user interfaces and hardwares, sometimes (perhaps frequently) “less is more”. Keep the content short but keep the learning experience sharp with interactive elements. Like in the physics principle, narrow the touch area to create more impact with the same given level of force.

In summary, we believe that making income from course selling still needs time investment since it takes time to build a brand and recognized authority takes time. Although it is not easy and fast, we believe that’s the right path.

How to Build a Customer Education Academy in a Weekend (Without Hiring a Developer) https://minicoursegenerator.com/blog/customer-education-academy-weekend-without-hiring-developer/ Wed, 22 Oct 2025 08:57:43 +0000 https://minicoursegenerator.com/?p=12749 Turn your existing content into interactive mini-courses that boost engagement and save time.

]]>

The Breakdown

Ever felt like you’re repeatedly answering the same customer questions over and over? Or like your users aren’t fully tapping into the product’s potential?

What if you could shift from reactive support to proactive education, turning users into empowered learners who get real value on their own?

That’s exactly what an effective customer education strategy / program enables. With Mini Course Generator you can launch a functional version complete with onboarding, certifications, quizzes, and structured learning paths in just a weekend. No developer required. In this post, you’ll get a clear, step-by-step guide to build your own customer education program, an LMS-style academy, start reducing support tickets, and accelerate product adoption and customer retention.

Why a Customer Training / Education Program Changes the Game

Let’s begin with the “why,” because that’s what justifies the time investment. A strong customer education program is more than a repository of tutorials; it’s a strategic tool that fuels customer onboarding, learning experience, and long-term customer success.

Here are the key benefits:

  • Lower support costs & fewer support tickets: When customers can self-serve, your support team stops answering repetitive queries and can focus on tricky issues or proactive engagement.
  • Faster onboarding & product adoption: Clear learning paths help new customers reach their first “aha” moment faster, increasing activation and conversion.
  • Better customer retention & reduced churn: Educated customers extract more value, stick around longer, and are more likely to upgrade or renew.
  • Scalable training content & self-paced education: One course can serve thousands of learners without scaling your team linearly.
  • Insight via metrics: You can measure completion rates, learner engagement, and tie that to customer satisfaction, upsells, or retention.
  • Better alignment with your product roadmap: Using analytics from the learning platform, you can see pain points and build features or content to address real user needs.
  • Brand authority & differentiation: A polished academy (think “HubSpot Academy” style) elevates your brand, and becomes a credential for your users.

Given all that upside, building even a minimal viable version of a customer education program is one of the highest-leverage investments you can make for your SaaS, product, or service.

Weekend Prep: Before You Build Anything

To launch fast (and well), you need clarity up front. Don’t skip this prep phase.

1. Define Your Customer Journey, Your Learners & Their Needs

  • Segment your customer base: newbies, intermediate users, power users, admin-level, etc.

  • Build 2–3 learner personas (roles, technical proficiency, goals).

  • Identify pain points, knowledge gaps, and use cases those personas struggle with.

  • Collaborate with customer support, success, and sales teams; they can surface recurring questions or confusion.

  • Review your CRM / customer feedback / support tickets for patterns.

This gives you the foundation for targeted training content (rather than guesswork).

2. Map Out Your Content Strategy & Learning Paths

  • Start with the “big wins”: the actions or features that deliver immediate value to new users.

  • Sketch out learning paths (or tracks) by persona or use case: e.g. Getting Started → Core Features → Advanced Use Cases.

  • Within each path, define courses, then (mini courses) / modules, then pages with the lessons.

  • Prioritize your first deliverables: you don’t need to build everything now—just enough to launch a Minimum Viable Academy.

Create a backlog of future content: advanced topics, integrations, case studies, webinars, podcasts, etc. MCG Hot Hint using tools like Google’s NotebookLM can help create multiple assets such as overview videos and mini podcasts.

3. Choose Your No-Code Lightweight Learning Experience Platform (LXP)

To build in a weekend, you’ll want an LXP (as part of your tech stack) that handles the heavy lifting for you. An invaluable tech stack can include

  • Mini Course Generator – Easy no-code lightweight LXP, AI course builder, AI Interaction Builder quizzes, micro-credential certificates.

  • Google’s NotebookLM – simple, integrated with digital products, video overviews and podcasts

  • Canva – gives design flexibility if you want your academy embedded in your existing site.

Your customer education program / academy solution must offer:

  1. Ease of use, shallow learning curve and be accessible on any device.

  2. Essential LXP features: courses, modules, quizzes, micro-credentials, badges, certificates, progress tracking and statistics

  3. Branding & customization: to match your brand style, palette and user experience

  4. Integrations & automation: e.g. connect to your CRM, email, webinars, analytics

  5. Pricing / scaling you don’t want the platform to bite you as your user base grows

For this guide, we’ll assume you pick your dedicated Academy learning platform, management system or LXP to be Mini Course Generator to let you move fastest and easiest.

Day 1: Build the Core Academy Structure

Let’s get hands-on. By the end of Day 1, you should have an empty but structured academy with a few lessons filled.

Step 1: Collection Setup & Branding

  • Sign up and explore the dashboard, create a ‘collection’.

  • Name your collection / academy (e.g. “[Your Product] Academy” or “Learning Hub”).

  • Upload your logo, pick your brand colors & fonts.

  • If possible, configure a custom domain/subdomain (e.g. learn.yourcompany.com).

Disable or set free pricing for your courses (since you’re launching an educational customer academy, not a paid course).

Step 2: Set Up Courses, Modules (Mini Courses) & Lesson Skeletons

  • Create your first collection course (e.g. “Getting Started with [Product] or Functions”).

  • Add 3–5 *modules dividing logical topic clusters (e.g. Setup, Core Features, Workflows).

  • Under each mini course module, add lesson stubs (just titles). Eventually aim for 3–6 lessons per module.

  • Use your content map from prep to guide this structure.

Example structure:

  • Course: Getting Started
    • Module 1: Onboarding & Setup
        – Lesson: Welcome & Overview
        – Lesson: Account Setup
        – Lesson: Integrations
    • Module 2: Core Workflow
        – Lesson: Main Dashboard
        – Lesson: Creating Projects
        – Lesson: Collaboration Tools

Step 3: Fill in Key Lessons (Quick Wins)

Pick 1 or 2 modules and fully flesh out their lessons. Don’t aim for perfection, just usefulness. Consider carefully the type of content you’d like, not just click through!

This is not elearning of old! What to include:

  • Interactive lessons (step-by-step with headings, bullet lists, bold key points)
  • Screenshots / images for visuals with clickable hotspots.
  • Short videos / screen-recorded walkthrough videos 2–5 minutes, focused
  • Downloads or templates (PDF checklists, cheatsheets, workflow templates)

By the end of Day 1, your goal: at least one completed module (all lessons) and partial progress in a second module.

Day 2: Polish, Engage & Launch

Day 2 is all about improving the experience, adding engagement, and launching your academy.

Step 4: Add Engagement Features

  • Interactive Activities and Quizzes: Add short 3–5 question multiple-choice quizzes at the end of each module to help learners self-check.

  • Certificates: Enable a completion certificate, upload a template and customize attributes.

  • Supplemental resources: Link downloadable PDFs, cheat-sheets, best-practice guides.

  • Videos & multimedia: If there are any lessons that would benefit from a better video or embedded content, add those now.

  • Cross-links / calls to action: Encourage learners to go to the next lesson or module, or revisit weak areas.

Step 5: Brand & UX Polish

  • Check your navigation, ensure learners can see their progress, get to their enrolled courses easily.

  • Write compelling course/module descriptions (benefits + outcomes).

  • Customize system emails (welcome, course completion, lesson notification) to match your brand voice.

Add a dashboard or landing page that gives a warm welcome, explains how to use the academy, and suggests a starting path.

Step 6: Pre-Launch & Promotion Setup

  • Add a prominent “Academy / Learn / Resources” link to your website navigation.

  • In your product UI, add in-app banners, tooltips, or onboarding prompts to direct users to your academy.

  • Build an email announcement to your existing customers/new leads showcasing your new educational content.

  • Inform your support team and customer success reps—send them academy links they can share.

  • Prepare a blog post or social media announcements to generate buzz.

Optionally do a soft launch to a small segment (beta users or most engaged customers) to collect early feedback.

Step 7: Launch

Go live. Share the link broadly. Monitor feedback and usage.

After Launch: Iterate, Expand & Measure

Your weekend build is the foundation. Now you need to grow, optimize, and tie your academy’s performance back to business outcomes.

Gather Feedback & Iterate

  • Use short star rating and free text questions surveys at the end of modules or courses (“Was this lesson helpful? What would you like to see next?”).
  • Enable comments, or open a feedback forum for learners.
  • Conduct user interviews with engaged learners to dig deeper.
  • Review support tickets—if questions persist around a topic, enhance or clarify that lesson.
  • Monitor analytics: module/completion rates, time spent, quiz scores, drop-off points.
  • Use that data to refine, restructure, or remove low-performing content.

Expand Your Content Library to Your Customer Journey

  • Cover new features as your product evolves.
  • Build advanced or vertical-specific courses.
  • Add case studies, webinars, podcasts or subject matter experts (SMEs) interviewing.
  • Create interactive content, branching lessons, or scenario-based modules.
  • Turn commonly asked support Qs into mini-lessons or tutorials.

Tie Academy Metrics to Business Outcomes

Track and correlate:

  • Enrollment & active learners
  • Lesson & course completion rates
  • Time in learning / learning paths traversed
  • Support ticket reduction (before vs after)
  • Feature adoption by learners vs non-learners
  • Retention / churn differences for academy users
  • Upsell / expansion among engaged users
  • Improved customer experience and customer satisfaction / NPS / CSAT among learners
  • Customer testimonials and feedback, incorporating a free text field gives you powerful testimonials and star rating style feedback.

From there, you can quantify ROI: reductions in support cost, increased retention, improved upsell rates all boosting your bottom line.

  • Use AI interactive activities with the AI Interaction Builder and AI Quizzes.
  • Track learner metrics and engagement
  • Scale content creation without bloating your headcount

It’s one of the fastest ways to go from idea to published on-demand learning experiences. You don’t need to use a full learning management system, a lightweight LXP can be your perfect workflow and the backbone of your customer education program.

Final Thoughts

You don’t need a full dev team or a lengthy launch timeline to get started with a customer education academy. With the right prep and tools, you can build a value-driving learning platform over a weekend and begin relieving support, boosting customer engagement, and driving product adoption right away.

But remember: this is just the start. An academy becomes powerful only when it’s a living system evolving content, measuring outcomes, iterating, and aligning with your customers’ evolving needs. Commit to continuous feedback, tie everything back to customer success and business goals, and watch how the academy transforms your support, onboarding, and growth.

We are determined to make the Mini Course Generator the most flexible and the easiest e-learning authoring and course creation platform in the world. In line with this, our top focus is breaking the conventional ‘video+text’ loop in typical course structure, engaging learners more deeply with interactive content, and enabling an experience that shifts learners from passive watching to active thinking.

That’s why we added a new block type: image hotspots. Hotspots work best when the spatial relationship between visual elements matters, or when you want to shift from “telling” to “let them discover”.

By the way, you can add blocks inside hotspots, like video blocks, so this structure is open for preparing creative and engaging learning experience.

🧑‍🍳 What’s cooking?

👉 To improve the online course selling experience for subject domain experts, here are some of the upcoming features:

  • Ability to build a showcase page, where multiple collections can be provided
  • Ability to provide different pricing / access options for each collection on a single page; i.e, leaving a collection as free for lead generation and the rest under paid access
  • Shortening the purchasing flow
  • Bringing a new, sales-oriented header type

With these developments, Mini Course Generator will be a better alternative to platforms like Thinkific and Teachable, if you prioritize interactive & engaging learning experience over traditional course delivery.

You can see all these updates demonstrated live in next week’s webinar (details below).

👉 To increase community interaction among the learners, we are preparing “social learning” block that can be added into any page preferred.

The Breakdown

TL;DR

AI tools are expanding what’s possible in your Mini Course Generator creations. Google’s NotebookLM, a smart assistant that helps you turn notes into insights, can now power your mini podcasts, video explainers, and interactive discussions.

By making your content multimodal, you can enhance learning, creativity, and engagement for all learners. This blog has 4 ways which NotebookLM can help the Mini Course Generator community of course creators.

Mini Course Generator 💙 Google’s NotebookLM

The world of AI-powered learning just got even more exciting. If you’re already using Mini Course Generator (Mini Course Generator) to create interactive, engaging learning experiences, you’ll love how Google’s NotebookLM can take your mini courses to the next level.

Let’s explore what NotebookLM is and how it integrates seamlessly with Mini Course Generator to enhance learning, creativity, and engagement through multimodal representations of your information.

What Is NotebookLM?

NotebookLM is Google’s AI-powered research and learning assistant. Think of it as a smart, personalized workspace where you can upload your notes, documents, and sources, and then ask questions, generate summaries, or even create outlines and scripts based on your content.

In short, it’s like having an intelligent co-creator that helps you analyze, explain, and communicate ideas faster and more effectively.

When paired with Mini Course Generator, NotebookLM opens up a world of possibilities for educators, marketers, and creators who want to craft courses that feel personal, dynamic, and deeply engaging.

1. Create a Mini Podcast for Your Course

NotebookLM can automatically generate conversational scripts or summaries from your source materials. Use this feature to create a short, focused mini podcast that explains a key idea or walks learners through complex concepts in a friendly, voice-driven way.

With Mini Course Generator, these mini podcasts can be embedded directly into your course, either as an audio element inside a hotspot or tag on an image, or as a standalone audio feature.

It’s a fun, modern way to make your content more human and accessible, perfect for learners who prefer to listen on the go. Mini Course Generator Hot Hint 🔥 adding a visual element to go with your podcast keeps your course page vibrant.

  • Choose your style of podcast and length
  • Download the file (M4a)
  • In Mini Course Generator click Video and choose Single Audio File
  • Click play and select ‘Change Audio’ to add your new podcast!
  • Customize your block!

2. Build a Video Explanation Using Notebook LM as Your Videographer

Sometimes, seeing is believing. NotebookLM can help you turn dense or technical information into clear, structured explanations, making it easier to script short explainer videos or course introductions.

Once you’ve created your video, embed it right inside your Mini Course Generator mini course. Presenting the same information in both text and video form helps reinforce key ideas, support different learning preferences, and create a more immersive experience.

The result? Learners retain more and feel more connected to your content.

  • Select Video Overview in the Studio
  • Download the file MP4
  • In Mini Course Generator Add Video and upload your video to your media library
  • New! Toggle Autoplay on / off
  • Customize your block!

3. Generate Interactive Discussion Prompts and Reflections

Here’s a clever third use: NotebookLM can help you generate overviews of your subject which you can use in your course pages

You can take the AI-generated overviews and use Mini Course Generator’s interactive features to transform passive reading into active activities with the Mini Course Generator AI Interaction Builder.

By prompting learners to pause, think, and engage in an interactive activity you create a more memorable and participatory learning experience.

4. Generate Flash Cards to Use with Mini Course Generator Flip and Spin Elements

NotebookLM can also help you generate flashcards from your notes, transcripts, or course materials. These bite-sized question-and-answer pairs are perfect for reinforcing key concepts or summarizing lessons.

Once you’ve created your flashcards, in the NotebookLM Studio, simply copy and paste the text into your Mini Course Generator flip cards. This turns static content into interactive learning moments that help learners review and retain information more effectively.

Flip cards are an easy, engaging way to keep learners involved and boost comprehension throughout your mini course.

AI Assistance + Interactivity = The Future of Mini Courses

NotebookLM is more than just another AI tool. It’s a creative partner that helps you unlock new dimensions of storytelling, teaching, and engagement. When you combine its content intelligence with Mini Course Generator’s interactive design features, you create multimodal mini courses that feel personal, alive, and unforgettable.

So go ahead, experiment, play, and bring your next mini course to life with the power of Google’s NotebookLM and Mini Course Generator together 💙

Below is recent customer feedback we received:

“PROS: This is the most sophisticated e-learning authoring platform I have used. And I have tried many. The course creation functions are awesome. CONS: It lacks functions for a decent homepage and the landing/collection pages are confusing.”

We agree.

Especially for the subject domain experts, who want to use Mini Course Generator for selling online courses.

That’s why we’ve started to work on a major update that will add the missing features for those who want to generate revenue from their expertise. To name a few, here are the changes coming:

  • Ability to build a landing page, where multiple collections can be provided
  • Ability to provide different pricing / access options for each collection on a single page
  • Improving the user experience of the lead during the purchasing steps
  • Bringing a new, sales-oriented header type (as shown below) and much more..

With these developments, Mini Course Generator will be a better alternative to platforms like Thinkific and Teachable if you prioritize interactive, engaging learner experience over traditional course delivery.

They will be ready before the end of October.
