Dispositions for Learning
Learning dispositions refers to the mindsets, values, and thinking patterns of people which affect how they approach learning. promoting lifelong learning by actively encouraging curiosity, resilience, and a tendency to engage with new ideas. They are very important for setting up a positive learning atmosphere and they also help people become lifelong learners.
Four main characteristics of learning involve curiosity, motivation, resilience and a growth mindset. The case of a curious student is a practical example of a student who looks for new information and asks questions, whereas a resistant learner is somebody who overcomes problems and difficulties in the process, see them as chances to grow and not as hindrances.
Teachers can implement positive attitudes by having a friendly and racing environment, being exemplary positive and giving them the chance of making decisions about their learning. For instance, their involvement in project-based learning gives students the chance to work on their own projects and develop a sense of control over their education, which can improve their self-motivation.
The willings to learn are main dispositions of learning as they are the main of the students' engagement in overcoming difficulties and personal and professional advancement. A learner with a growth mindset, for instance, is much more interested in the development and overall learning that will lead him to be able to adapt to the new settings and improve his skills over the course of his life.
To be honest, learning dispositions can be evaluated not just through a few but many methods including self-reflections, peer evaluations and observations. Take for example, the teacher uses the rubric which is used to evaluate a student's engagement, persistence in problem-solving, and a collaborative founder to provide the student with insights into his/her learning modalities and the ways for development.
